Everything You Need to Know About Branded Reports

Spotlight Reporting is packed full of customisation options. From adding your logo to choosing a Colour Palette, this post will help you ensure your clients or stakeholders receive a professionally branded report and a tailored experience at your next meeting.

Picture the most recognisable brands you can think of. Coke, McDonalds, or Cadbury (are you hungry now...?). Chances are, you've learned to recognise them because of the consistency across everything—written or visual—these brands share.

When it comes to building a memorable brand, it's all about consistency. Once we see them enough, they become instantly recognisable, bringing us a strong sense of reliability and security.

Your business, whether it’s a large accounting firm, a small business, or something in between, will have its own unique brand. This post is all about helping your brand shine through in the reports you present to clients or stakeholders. So, let’s make sure you integrate your brand throughout every inch of your business.

Starting from the top:

1. Practice Branding

All our reporting tools have a white-labelling feature. At no extra cost, you can add your logo to look less like Spotlight Reporting and more like your business. We want you to take all the credit! There are three things you can do to add personalisation under the Practice Branding settings:

✅ Add your logo to stamp your mark.

✅ Change your default report titles to add your brand voice.

✅ Update your report footer. This is a great area to add a disclaimer or your contact details.

2. Customising Report Covers

Whoever said “You never have a second chance to make a great first impression,” makes a solid point. So, how do you ensure that the first interaction your audience has with your report is positive? Start your report with a Cover page.

A modern looking report cover design is an essential tool for giving your clients or stakeholders that professional experience. Our range of report covers and customisation options are designed to put you firmly in control of the report design.

Choose a template and tailor it to match your brand by customising the colours and logos. Or go even further by uploading your own custom background to show off your firm’s style and flair.

3. Colour Palettes

Choosing any colour scheme—whether it’s for your website, report-cover, or painting your new kitchen—can be a challenge. Using one of Spotlight Reporting’s latest features, Colour Palettes, you’ll be ready to tell an effective and on-brand story to your clients. Choose a palette that showcases your brand, provides a consistent experience for your clients and helps you connect with your audience.

Choose from eight monochromatic palettes (one primary colour across multiple shades), through to our standard Colour Palette (multiple colours). Your new palette will be applied to all charts in your Spotlight reports.

Whether your report is meant for internal stakeholders, like your leadership team, board, or external ones, like clients, it’ll leave more of an impression if it looks good. Take the time to get it right.
